Helping those in Need
Helping those in need should be a moral duty of everyone. When war occurs, civilians are more likely to die than soldiers due to the conflict. The current situation in Ukraine should not undermine the reality that the needs of people living with a rare disease are real, vast, and unmet. An estimated 2 million people in Ukraine live with rare diseases. To protect the most vulnerable, who are caught in the conflict in Ukraine, unable to flee, and without access to humanitarian aid, please support our action in Ukraine.
From our Warehouse to Przemyśl
Many more are still in Ukraine, unsure of what the next day will bring; some of the organizations that we work with within Ukraine are Caritas Ukraine, BackAndAlive, and Організація «Народна самооборона Львівщини.» In addition, the Petronille Healthy Society is open to working with any charitable organizations in Ukraine and Poland to deliver humanitarian aid. The Petronille Healthy Society is working with our partners to respond where the need is the most and with the most needed services. Unfortunately, most public infrastructure has been destroyed, leaving thousands of people without adequate water, heat, and electricity or unable to reach stores to buy basic necessities. Health facilities, including maternities and children's hospitals, have also been damaged during the conflict.
Serving the Rare Disease Commutiy
In Ukraine, helping those affected with rare diseases is one of our mission. We are currently working with our partners to support the evacuation of patients with rare diseases and their families. In the city of Przemyśl we are providing medical care to patient affected with rare disease coming from Ukraine. We also provide them with blankets, sleeping bags, personal hygiene items, clothes, medicines, medical equipment and supplies. Furthermore, we are using mobile teams, mobile teams, to reach people who have no other access to medical help with our partners. In addition, since the first week of May, we are now providing cash so people in need can purchase what they need the most.

Petronille Healthy Society and our partners respond by building more quarantine zones, providing personal protective equipment and transitional building shelters, and giving families a place to live while they recover.
They Need Us
More than 200 health facilities have been destroyed or damaged within the country. Most pharmacies are closed, stocks of medicines are low, and many health care workers have left, leaving people without access to health care and critical medications needed. The food security situation continues to deteriorate every day. Immediate food needs are reported in conflict-affected areas and areas hosting internally displaced people.

Emergency Medicine
Hospitals and clinics are often overwhelmed or destroyed during conflicts, and quality healthcare services are crucial in the days following a crisis.
We are currently supporting mobile clinics, camps, and medical set up with medical equipment and supplies they desperately need to help people affected by this conflict.
